NBA’s 2024 All-Star game voting is open

NBA fans can now cast their ballots for the 2024 All-Star weekend. The 73rd edition of the highly entertaining event will take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis between 16th and 18th of Februrary. The voting opened on 19th of December and in the meantime one particular player has made a long awaited return from a disciplinary punishment, grabbing most of the headlines.

Ja Morant marked his comeback by securing the Western Conference Player of the Week title on Monday, making a strong case for his All-Star game inclusion. The Memphis Grizzlies, struggling at 6-19 without Morant at the season’s start, have since experienced a remarkable 4-0 turnaround with him back on the court.

Current leaders in the NBA’s main categories:
Scoring: Joel Embiid, Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis Antetokounmpo and De’Aaron Fox all average above 30 points per game.
Rebounds: Anthony Davis, Nikola Jokic, and Domantas Sabonis excell in rebounding with each of the three averaging above 12 rebounds per game.
Assists: Tyrese Haliburton and Trae Young, the two young point guards are the only players in the NBA who dish out more than 10 dimes on a nightly basis.
Blocks: Rookies Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren lead in blocks. Two of the main candidates for the “Rookie of the year” accolade are making their presence under the rim felt.

Fan participation will account for 50% of the vote, while NBA players and media will contribute equally, each holding a 25% share in determining the ultimate results. The voting period concludes on January 20, 2024.
