Isco and Real Betis have come to an agreement over extending the player’s contract to 2027. The experienced playmaker quickly established himself as a key player and now is an integral part of Real Betis’ starting 11.

Isco is enjoying a great campaign on a personal level and has created more chances (55) than any other player in LaLiga so far this season. He joined Betis in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer. The move caused controversy, as Isco was previously part of Sevilla’s squad – Betis’ cross-town rivals, but his contract was terminated prematurely in December 2022.
Francisco Roman Alarcon Suarez (Isco’s full name) is a Real Madrid legend, having spent 9 seasons in the Spanish capital. He was part of the team that won three consecutive Champions League titles, and also won every possible club trophy in his time with Los Blancos. Isco is also one of the 19 players in the history of football who have five or more Champions League winners’ medals.
It remains unclear whether Isco’s good form will result in a call-up to the Spanish national team for the upcoming European Championship in the summer of 2024. So far in his career the playmaker has represented Spain on 38 occasions, with a return of 12 goals and 6 assists.
